ALL Contests and Future
Prize Winnings...The
IRS is now making us put all prize winnings through
payroll. How does that affect us…greatly!! All
winnings are now going to be subject to income tax
withholding and 401 k contributions. So, when MH holds
future contests, you need to know we will be announcing
the GROSS winnings. Your ACTUAL winnings will be
less the tax withholding and 401K contributions and all
winnings will be taxed as income! Prizes could
include gift cards, cash, gift certificates, etc...
Thanks for your understanding!

MORE Good Stuff from the IT Department!! -
We have now made logging on the MH Network even faster. Since we have moved all of our system updates and patches to be run at night, we have removed all the system updates from our login script (the black screen you get when you login to the network each day). You will get the screen, but only briefly! So, you can login into the network MUCH faster now!
In addition, as part of the system updates at night, we will be instituting an automatic system reboot of your computers each week on Monday nights, during your system updates. So, when you come into the office on Tuesday morning, your computer should be at a login prompt. So, please be sure to have all of your important applications closed and your work saved each Monday night before going home.
If you have a laptop and take it home, we ask that you restart your computer at least once a week to clear the memory, so that your computer runs a peak performance.
If you have any questions about the updates, please contact Mark Gillis at extension 4274
Computer virus - AntiVirus Live
- We have had several computers contract the
AntiVirus Live virus (no, it is not AntiVirus software,
it is an actual virus). Antivirus Live is an
unwanted and unsafe program that disguises as a security
application for Windows operating system. Antivirus Live
comes from the same group that created the famous
Antivirus System PRO who have infected a number of
computers recently. These programs will invade computers
via method of which users think that it was beneficial
and useful, little did they know that installing this
program may harm the computer.
Antivirus Live virus will configure itself to run
when Windows is started by modifying the system registry
and create its own entries. This malware can also end
security-related process that may render security
program useless. Blocking Internet access, malfunction
Windows functions such as Kaspersky, Task Manager,
Registry Editor and Folder Options are also one of this
threats payload on the compromised computer.
This virus will pop up a screen telling you that you
have XXX number of viruses and to click here to clean
them or to get rid of the threats. It then
installs the virus onto your computer by fooling you
into thinking it will clean the viruses, when instead,
it will install a virus onto your computer. If you
get something like this pop up on your computer, please
call IT immediately. What ever you do, do not
click anywhere on that screen, or it will install the
virus. To get rid of the virus, you must send your
computer into the IT group and will be with out your
computer for several days, as we can not fix it remotely
If you have this pop up on your screen after hours at
a hotel or home, you will need to close the program
using the task Manager (Alt+Ctrl+Del keys, then click on
Task Manager). Go into the application and click
End Task.
Remember, it is against IT policy to install any
software with out IT approval.
